Dr Xanthe Wolter-Ferguson

HCPC-registered Counselling Psychologist | Witney & Oxford | In-person and online

I offer a warm, non-judgemental space to explore whatever brings you to therapy. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, or simply feeling stuck, I work collaboratively with you to better understand your experiences and find meaningful ways forward.

My approach is integrative, drawing on cognitive-behavioural, psychodynamic, and humanistic traditions. I believe in tailoring therapy to fit you, not the other way around. Sessions are confidential, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based practice.

How I Work

I practice from an integrative perspective, which means I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on what will be most helpful for you. My training includes cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and humanistic approaches, but I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all model.

In our work together, I aim to create a relationship that feels safe, authentic, and collaborative. Therapy is not something I do to you - it's something we do together. I'll bring my expertise and experience, but you are the expert on your own life. My role is to help you make sense of your experiences, identify patterns that might be keeping you stuck, and explore new ways of thinking, feeling, and being.

I work with adults (18+) and offer both short-term and open-ended therapy, depending on your needs and goals. Some people come for a few sessions to work through a specific issue; others stay longer to explore deeper patterns or simply to have a consistent space to reflect and process.

Above all, I believe therapy should feel human. I'm not here to give you answers or fix you - you're not broken. I'm here to listen, to understand, and to walk alongside you as you figure out what feels right for you.
